Whole Foods Market
NE 15th/Fremont – Portland
$1.69

This is the first time I’m talking to you about biscotti.

It is not because I hate biscotti. It is because I don’t see them; biscotti are like wallpaper to me.

But yesterday at Whole Foods, while having trouble deciding what kind of cookie I should be eating that day, Jaclyn nudged me toward this one – a new addition to the Fremont WF lineup.

Wheat and sugar free – a virtuous choice for anyone eschewing such things in the new year.

And although I am not such a person (I haven’t lost my mind, people!), I was sold on these facts alone:

• almonds (lots of them)
• almond meal (magic)
• currants (like raisins, but cuter)
• soft  (no need to dunk in order to avoid a trip to the dentist.)

What’s not to love?  If you’re in the market for  for a sweeter situation than this, the last person in the world who will judge you for dipping your sugar free biscotti in a bowl of chocolate or frosting or straight up brown sugar is ME.

*My guess is that there’s some fruit juice in there; they are a tiny bit sweet.
